Deborah Cooke sold her first book, Romance of the Rose, in 1992. That medieval romance was published in 1993, under the pseudonym Claire Delacroix. She has written many historical romances as Claire Delacroix, many of which have included fantasy elements. The Beauty, part of her successful Bride Quest series, was her first book to land on the New York Times' List of Bestselling Books.
